I would like to be wrong, but the Bush administration seems to cave on this type of issue. Well, Bush did keep Cheney and even kept Rumsfeld for a long time, so I might be wrong. But it doesn't seem like Gonzales is a political ally in the way those guys were/are.
Why would I like to be wrong? Gonzales did handle all of this current mess badly. I just do not like to see one branch pushing the other branch around. A balance of powers ought to be that, a balance, and each branch ought to be careful to maintain the balance and not push the other around.
